How You Can Help Us
News Letter
The number two school in Mabomboh Village, Ngowahun chiefdom, Northern Sierra Leone has been completed and admission of Junior High school children is underway. HOHA engagement in this endeavor hinges on these key factors:
Providing Access to Education: Building a school provides access to education for children in depressed communities. Education is a powerful tool for empowerment, enabling individuals to acquire knowledge, skills, and opportunities for personal and societal development. It can break the cycle of poverty, improve livelihoods, and foster social mobility.
Equal Opportunities: By establishing a school in a depressed community, it helps bridge the educational gap and promotes equality. It ensures that children in these communities have the same chances to learn and succeed as those in more privileged areas. Education should not be restricted to certain groups or locations but should be accessible to all.
Empowerment and Potential: Education empowers individuals to fulfill their potential. By providing education in depressed communities, it equips children with essential literacy, numeracy, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. This empowers them to overcome challenges, become active participants in their communities, and contribute positively to society.
Breaking Societal Barriers: Education can challenge societal norms, traditions, and prejudices that may perpetuate inequality or discrimination. It can promote inclusivity, gender equality, and social cohesion, fostering a more just and tolerant society. A school can serve as a catalyst for positive change and transform the outlook for the entire community.
Community Development: Building a school can have a broader impact beyond education. It can stimulate community development by attracting resources, infrastructure improvements, and creating employment opportunities. Schools often become community centers that provide resources and services beyond education, benefiting both children and adults.
Sustainable Development: Investing in education is a long-term investment in the development of a nation. By building schools in depressed communities, it contributes to sustainable development goals, such as reducing poverty, improving health outcomes, promoting gender equality, and fostering economic growth.
