News Letter 2026
Overview and Key Achievements
The past academic year marked a period of exceptional progress for the two schools supported under the Help One Help All (HOHA) initiative. With the generous support of Louise and other partners, the schools recorded a 100% pass rate for all students who sat for the national examinations. This achievement reflects the positive impact of sustained investment in teachers, learning resources, and school leadership.
In response to growing demand for education, HOHA successfully supported the launch of a Senior Secondary School, significantly expanding access to secondary education within the community. To ensure quality instruction and effective school management, additional qualified teachers were recruited, strengthening academic delivery across all levels.
Student enrollment continues to increase steadily, demonstrating growing community confidence in the schools. The availability of secondary education within the local area has brought immense relief and joy to families, as students can now pursue further education close to home, reducing financial, safety, and travel challenges.
Use of Donor Funds
During the reporting period, donor contributions were allocated strategically to maximize educational impact. Funds were utilized as follows:
- 15% – Teacher Recruitment and Salaries:
Supported the hiring of additional qualified teachers to improve student–teacher ratios and strengthen academic performance. - 25% – Establishment of the Senior Secondary School:
Covered classroom preparation, learning spaces, and operational startup costs to ensure the successful launch of the senior secondary program. - 10% – Teaching and Learning Materials:
Procurement of textbooks, examination preparation materials, and instructional resources to support effective teaching and learning. - 50% – School Operations and Infrastructure Support:
Addressed essential operational costs and basic infrastructure needs to maintain a safe and conducive learning environment.
These targeted investments directly contributed to improved academic outcomes, increased enrollment, and stronger community trust.
Community Impact
The expansion and success of the HOHA schools have had a transformative effect on the local community. Parents and guardians have expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to educate their children locally, while students are more motivated and better prepared to pursue higher levels of education. The schools are increasingly viewed as centers of hope, stability, and long-term development.
Future Funding Needs
As enrollment continues to grow and the Senior Secondary School becomes fully established, additional resources will be required to sustain and build upon current gains. Key future funding priorities include:
- Recruitment of more subject-specialist teachers for senior secondary classes
- Expansion of classroom and learning facilities to accommodate increasing student numbers
- Investment in science laboratories, ICT resources, and libraries
- Continued support for teacher professional development
- Strengthening student support services to maintain high academic performance
Continued partnership with our Benefactors will be instrumental in ensuring the sustainability of these schools and in extending quality education to even more students in the coming years.
Conclusion
The achievements recorded during the past academic year demonstrate the powerful impact of donor support under the HOHA initiative. With continued investment, the schools are well positioned to sustain academic excellence, expand access, and contribute meaningfully to the long-term educational and socio-economic development of the community.
